2023 TESTIMONIALS 2024
Nitara has been such a help for me and my gelding Zeus. Always willing to work and ride him around my travel dates, as well as special times when Zeus was just a little too spicy and needed a gentle but firmer hand then mine. She always listened to specific issues that we were working on, and to keep things consistent, she was eager to keep to the methodology that I was using. I can't say enough about how pleasant it is to work with Nitara, and what a comfort it is to know that I can rely on her experience and ethics to work for the good of the horse. She is careful to teach them through trust and respect. Her sweet attitude shows how much she cares about each horse. Nitara is a gem for sure. - Wendy Powell, Montana

Nitara started our Mustang colt for us last winter! She did a wonderful
job, we loved her methods and she was so patient and thorough with our horse. Definitely recommend her for starting horses & making them sound and safe to ride! - Becca Gaddie, Montana

Nitara with Westward Horsemanship does truly amazing work. I have worked with her on multiple occasions and the horses she trains get to such a nice place mentally and have the ability to do a job or go for a ride in the mountains without concern or trouble. Nitara has a great understanding of proper movement of the horse, how to communicate with the animal with clear cues and proper technique. She also understands how to get to the mind of a horse. Among many other examples, I have seen her take a mustang that was prone to bucking and transform him into a mentally comfortable critter to where his owners can ride ride him out on trails and their kids can also be safe on him. She has studied under individuals who are experts in natural horsemanship of the vaquero/California bridal horse tradition and she is a great representation of that approach with horses. I would truly recommend anyone looking for someone to start a colt, fixing a troubled horse, restart or anything else to have Nitara bring any horse to its full potential. - Asa Grant, Montana
My horses and I are truly blessed to have Nitara in our life. My very large and still young mustang, Ella, seemed to have lost her “power steering” this last riding season; we were starting to have “arguments“ about what direction we were going go during a simple ride. I thought she just needed a tune up.
I also had personal goals as a rider for the season; which required more bravery on my part and encouragement. Paramount to me was to find a trainer who would take whatever time Ella and I needed to partner up and accomplish our goals. I wanted somebody who would be sensitive to Ella’s needs. I had no expectation that in 30, 60 or 90 days, Ella would be exactly where I wanted her to be. I just wanted to patiently enjoy the process of moving Ella along to be a finished horse; she already had a wonderful start due to the talents of prior trainers and my willingness to continue using their methods.
In Nitara, the universe bestowed upon us an extremely talented, kind hearted and highly knowledgeable horsewoman. Within a matter of weeks, Ella and I had come much further along than I thought possible. I had the most magical riding season with Nitara. I can’t wait to continue the development of Ella and my skills this season in Nitara’s fine company. Nitara takes the time a horse needs on any given day to accomplish the goal that has been set. Sometimes this is an hour and it can go longer, particularly when the horse shows you a more important lesson should take precedence that day. Nitara quits the horse when it’s appropriate and that may mean working in the pouring rain and mud; that’s how dedicated she is to the spirit of partnership with horses. With love - Ella and Andi, Montana

Nitara’s help in training my mustangs was eye opening. She was able to see problems before they started and get them dealt with before they got bad. Not only did my horses do better, but she is a wealth of knowledge and taught me a ton. I will absolutely use her in the future. - Taylor Woodman,
